Risk in the 21st Century
Please note this event has now passed.
17 January 2008 - 28 February 2008
Conveners: Peter Taylor and Rafaela Hillerbrand
How can we make decisions in times of uncertainty and under risks of extreme consequence? What are the scientific, social and practical means of making decisions and assessing risk? What are the ethics of decision making? What role do academics, politicians and business people have to play in contributing to arguments for action (or inaction)?
This seminar series will bring together academics and experts to assess and inform on the kinds of challenges we face in the 21st century. The discussions will contribute to the broader agenda of addressing the need for developing new ways of thinking to understand and analyse the future.
The 21st Century School Seminars are open to everyone, but please be advised that space is limited.
