Dr Joseph Zuntz
James Martin Fellow, Programme on Computational Cosmology
Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Cosmology
Dr Zuntz works on the analysis and use of the very large data-sets that arise in precision cosmology. In particular he's concerned with data on the cosmic microwave background, a radiation field generated shortly after the big bang that gives us a window on the very early eras of the universe. The practical and theoretical challenges in handling and processing large amounts of data, especially when using a rigorous Bayesian framework, are common to many areas of astrophysics and wider science.
