Research centres on big picture questions for humanity, with a particular focus on the impacts of future technology. Bostrom has done pioneering work on existential risk, human enhancement, probability theory, and strategic issues related to global consequentialism. He has recently finished a book on the future of machine intelligence: Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies (OUP, 2014).
