RSS in Internet Explorer

Assuming you have the latest version of IE7 installed (at time of writing, version 7.0.5), you can easily harness RSS feeds in several ways.

"Live Bookmarks" are automatically updating favourites or bookmarks which let you see if there are any new additions to a website without actually having to visit it.

To start a new live bookmark in IE7, follow these steps:

1) Look for the RSS Icon on the right of the address bar at the top of your browser

2) Click on the icon. That will load a screen displaying the contents of the RSS feed. Here is an example of one of the BBC's RSS feeds:

3) At the top of this page, you now have the option of subscribing to the RSS feed in either the RSS reader of your choice, or by using IE7 itself

4) Click "Subscribe to this feed" to open a prompt - this will ask you where you'd like to save the live bookmark
