Ian Goldin: It's 'Wrong' For The Media To Give Equal Attention To 'Climate Change Skeptics'

Professor Ian Goldin of the Oxford Martin School joined HuffPost Live at Davos on Thursday to talk about the way the world is taking on climate change.

"The scientists are pretty unanimous -- 99.9 percent believe [climate change] is happening," Goldin said.

Goldin said we can't allow government organizations "to be a roadblock" to change, and he also criticized the media for their reporting on the issue.

"The media widely believe in balance," Goldin said, noting many in the media give "climate change skeptics" -- who he said are a small percentage of the population -- equal air time to those who believe in climate change.

"I think that's wrong," he said.

Goldin also touched on income inequality while speaking with HuffPost Live.

"The system is creatively destructive, and I believe society... will put pressure on the politicians," Goldin said.

"If people are going to deal with the biggest challenges of the world... they have to have a joined up view of the world," Goldin said. "We need to understand how we connect and we need to build a solidarity."
