My current research is into the differentiation of macrophages from human embryonic stem cells and induced Pluripotent Stem (iPS) cells, and their application for studying HIV host-pathogen interactions. I am also involved in the application of pluripotent stem cells and their differentiated progeny for studying genetic diseases, including differentiation to hematopoietic lineages for Chronic Granulomatous disease, and to neuronal lineages for Parkinson’s disease.
