Andrew Turberfield works on self-assembly programmed through molecular recognition, using biomolecules (especially DNA) to fabricate molecular-scale structures and devices and studying their applications at the interface between the physical and life sciences. His group’s current research includes the study of synthetic molecular structures and machinery, including their use for computation, molecular electronics, the control of chemical synthesis and as intracellular probes.
