Luiz Felipe Lampreia served as foreign minister of Brazil from 1995 to 2001. He was also ambassador to Suriname, Portugal and Geneva, as representative to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). He is now is vice chairman of the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), Chaired by President Fernando Henrique, and Chairman of the Council on international affairs of the Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro (FIRJAN). He also serves on several boards including the International Public Policies Board ( IPPAB) of The Coca-Cola Co; McLarty Associates; Oxford Analytica; Partex Oil and Gas; Souza Cruz; and Caixa Geral de Depositos in Brazil. He is a Professor of International Relations at the ESPM, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and has written two books on Brazilian foreign policy. He makes frequent appearances on television and radio, as well as writing articles on international affairs in the Brazilian press.
