Dr Efthymios Papastavridis primary responsibility within the interdisciplinary team working on this project is investigating the international legal implications of enforcement of fisheries and biodiversity protection, within and beyond national jurisdiction, including in marine protected areas.
Dr Papastavridis read law at University of Athens and University College London. He has taught international law at University College London, Westminster University, Democritus University of Thrace, University of Athens and University of Oxford. He is Research Fellow of Academy of Athens and Athens Public International Law Center. He has consulted the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and UNHCR on issues of law of the sea and refugee law. In 2012 Dr Papastavridis was appointed Director of the Centre of Research and Studies of The Hague Academy of International Law.
