Ali is a Machine Learning Scientist working on the Oxford Martin Programme on Deep Medicine programme and the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford.
The programmme applies data mining, machine learning and deep learning to complex biomedical datasets to generate insights of complex disease patterns, risk trajectories and treatment effects. He received his PhD in 2009 from the Centre of Mathematical Morphology, Mines ParisTech, France.
His previous research positions included work on the authentication of paintings and artworks using multispectral imaging at the Laboratoire Hubert Curien, France, and data mining of user generated content on the Internet at Qatar University. His research interests include image processing, machine learning, feature extraction and text mining.
