Dr Amy Hinsley

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Amy’s research uses interdisciplinary methods to understand the complex interactions between the legal and illegal markets for bear bile in China, particularly how consumer behavior and demand influence these markets.

Before joining Oxford in 2017 she worked at the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre on projects related to the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), and completed a PhD on consumer behavior and the use of the internet in the international wildlife trade, using a case study of orchids.
