Conor is a postdoctoral researcher in the Modernising Medical Microbiology group and Nuffield Department of Medicine developing new ways to identify which bacteria are making you ill and how we can treat them.

He is a member of the Oxford Martin School Programme on Antimicrobial Resistance, using super-resolution microscopy and machine learning to reduce the time it takes for accurate diagnosis. This work is important for reducing the emergence of antimicrobial resistance and ensuring the future safety of healthcare.

Conor obtained his PhD in Microbiology from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014 and spent a further 7 years as a postdoctoral researcher at both University College Cork and Teagasc understanding the role of the microbiome in maternal and infant health. His research interests include microbe-host interaction, genomics, and diagnostics.
