Francois is a postdoctoral researcher at INET working on a project on carbon sequestration in land use for The Nature Conservancy. Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and the London School of Economics, and as an environmental consultant for Bio Intelligence Service, Paris.
Francois's work relates more generally to climate change adaptation and mitigation in several sectors, in particular energy. He has recently published a paper at the European Economic Review on consumer myopia and imperfect competition on the refrigerator market. He also participated in drafting around 15 reports for the European Commission, UNDP and the French and UK ministries of environment. Francois speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. He holds a PhD in economics from Mines ParisTech.
