Stefano Caria is a development economist who uses experimental methods to investigate how to make labour markets work better for the poor, and how social capital is created among workers and farmers in the developing world. In recent work he evaluates two interventions designed to help young Ethiopians search for employment.
Much of the Stefano’s research is focussed on Ethiopia, where, before starting his doctoral studies, he spent two years as Overseas Development Institute fellow at the Ministry of Agriculture. Stefano has also carried out fieldwork in India under the iig programme and in Ghana.
He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MPhil and DPhil in Economics from the same university.
