Ines Pont Sanchis

Research Assistant

Ines Pont Sanchis is a research assistant with the Department of Engineering Science and the Oxford Martin Programme on Global Epilepsy developing diagnostic technologies to help bridge the treatment gap between rural communities and the healthcare systems in developing countries.

Her most recent work has been in implementing machine learning algorithms to detect biomarkers for resting state epilepsy from electroencephalogram data in order to develop decision support tools for healthcare workers with limited resources. She is also responsible for the design of a portable electroencephalogram device for use in remote settings in partnership with the diagnostic algorithms.

Prior to her position with the Oxford Martin School, she completed an integrated Masters in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford where she specialised in generative and discriminative models, control theory, and mathematical modelling of biological systems.
