Julian Jacobs
DPhil Affiliate
Julian Jacobs is a DPhil Affiliate of the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative and a current doctoral candidate at the Oxford Department of Politics and International Relations. His research focuses on AI economic impacts, including the implications of AI for labour markets, inequality, worker retraining programmes, and political behaviour.
In addition to his research at Oxford, Julian has worked on policy and political economy issues for Google DeepMind, the Centre for the Governance of AI, and the Brookings Institution, among other research institutions. He has also previously worked in the Office of President Barack Obama.
He was a Fulbright Scholar, through which he received his MSc in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics. He received his BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Brown University.
