Renaldi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Energy and Power Group at the Department of Engineering Science, and a Fellow of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Cooling. His main research interest is the sustainable provision of thermal energy for both heating and cooling purposes. He has worked on academic and industrial research projects in Indonesia, Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK.
After a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia), Renaldi completed an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), where he was involved in biomass combustion and solar thermal research. During his PhD study at the University of Edinburgh, Renaldi investigated the role of thermal energy storage in decarbonising residential and district heating systems. Before joining Oxford, Renaldi worked at the Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research at Newcastle University, looking at energy systems integration and low-carbon heating technologies.
