Dr Reuben Binns
Associate Professor
I am an interdisciplinary researcher working between computer science, law, and philosophy, focusing on data protection, machine learning, and the regulation of and by technology.
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, having joined as a postdoc in 2015. Between 2018-2020, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in AI at the Information Commissioner's Office, addressing artificial intelligence and machine learning, and data protection. My research interests include technical, legal and ethical aspects of privacy, machine learning, and decentralised systems.
