Speaker: Dr Felix Eigenbrod, Lecturer in Ecology and Ecosystem Services, Centre for Biological Studies, University of Southampton

Biography: Felix graduated with a BSc in Biology from Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Canada) in 2000, and completed an MRes in Ecology and Environmental Management at the University of York in 2002. He then worked for a year as a GIS technician at Imperial College London at Silwood Park on a project examining hotspots of global avian biodiversity. He started a PhD in landscape ecology at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) in January 2004 examining the effects of deforestation and road traffic on frog and toad populations which he completed in September 2008. He came to the University of Sheffield in March 2008 to work as a postdoctoral research associate on a project mapping ecosystem services in Britain. He was appointed lecturer in Ecology and Ecosystem services at the University of Southampton in August 2010.
