Dr Malcolm McCulloch, Institute for Carbon & Energy Reduction in Transport

Abstract: There is a dire need for the world to reduce the net carbon dioxide production. A significant sector contributor is transportation. However this challenge is made more complex by the additional factors of a growing population, growing wealth and expectations and greater commuting distances. This implies that at least a factor 15 improvement in CO2/km is needed. Some possible ways out of the dilemma are presented.
