ELAC recently held its inaugural event. The round-table discussion centred on the likely impact of the recent indictment of Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir. Panellists discussed the political challenges facing the court and the possible implications for Sudan. Guest speakers included:

  • Prof. Larry May (Professor of Philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis and Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics)

  • Prof. Robert Cryer (Professor of International and Criminal Law, Birmingham Law School)

  • Dr. Richard Barltrop (Consultant & Researcher on Sudan)

Prof. Jennifer Welsh, Co-director of ELAC, chaired the panel.
