Virtual Schooling is increasing rapidly in many countries so that thousands of students in primary and secondary schools are learning from a teacher who is not in their school alongside peers in other schools. A range of technologies are being employed, particularly video conference and online learning management systems accessed over the Internet. Niki Davis will illustrate and discuss her research into the new ecologies that are evolving in these virtual classrooms, including those associated with campus-based and virtual schools in the USA and New Zealand.
