This presentation will cover the work of the UKDA and ESDS in promoting data archiving and access. The emphasis will be on the processes involved in working with qualitative research. This will touch on the overall research lifecycle, depositing and cataloguing research, the ethics of re-use, negotiation, the notion of informed consent and issues of copyright.
