Speakers: Dr Toby Ord, James Martin Fellow, Future of Humanity Institute. Arunabha Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer, Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), India. Professor Sachiko Horiguchi, Assistant Professor in Anthropology, Temple University, Japan.

Summary: Since its inception in 2001, the Clarendon Fund has provided scholarships to nearly one thousand exceptional Oxford graduate students. Three of these inspirational former scholars return to talk about their journey from study at Oxford and beyond and how their current work addresses our century’s challenges. Arunabha Ghosh will focus on global governance issues; Toby Ord is investigating the topic of moral uncertainty, and Sachiko Horiguchi currently specializes in youth mental health issues, as well as foreign language education in contemporary Japan. This session will be followed by a drinks reception to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Clarendon Scholarships (please book separately for this event).
