A plaque in memory of the founder of the Oxford Martin School, Dr James Martin, was unveiled by his widow, Lillian Martin, following his memorial tribute on 18 October.
It bears the inscription "We can make any kind of world we want", in recognition of Dr Martin's drive not just to help solve the problems facing humanity in the 21st century, but also to harness the opportunities. The Welsh slate plaque was hand carved by Oxfordshire stonemason Alec Peever.
The plaque was unveiled at the re-dedication of the Oxford Martin School building in Dr Martin's memory, following a memorial service at Keble College Chapel, which was attended by family, friends and colleagues.
