At the invitation of the Chilean Government, the Director of the Oxford Martin School, Professor Ian Goldin, was invited to participate in a scientific expedition to the Antarctic.
While there, he visited the Chilean, Russian and Chinese Antarctic bases together with Nobel Laureate Steven Chu, former Greenpeace International Executive Director Kumi Naidoo, and other leading individuals engaged in discussions on the impact of climate change on the Antarctic.
En route to Antarctica Professor Goldin was hosted by Minister José Antonio Gómez, the Chilean Minister of Defence, who was responsible for the logistics of the visit.
