Climate costs could be way off target

04 September 2009

In a new post on the 21st Century School's blog, we discuss the implications of a new report indicating that the costs of adapting to climate change have been substantially underestimated.

As UN negotiations in preparation for the pivotal Copenhagen summit later this year continue, the report's authors, including the Environmental Change Institute's Dr Pam Berry, warn that the real costs of adaptation are likely to be two-to-three times greater than current estimates suggest. If delegates are working with inaccurate figures, any deal reached will be weakened from the outset.

We invite comments and discussion here.
