Divya Karnad

Assistant Professor, Ashoka University

Divya Karnad is an Oxford Martin School Visiting Fellow as well as an Assistant Professor at Ashoka University. She also heads the Marine Programme at the Foundation for Ecological Research Advocacy and Learning and is a marine conservationist and geographer by training.

Divya's work is interdisciplinary and examines topics such as indigenous fisheries, governance and commons management, shark and ray conservation, and seafood sustainability. She also co-founded InSeason Fish, India's first sustainable seafood initiative that uses seafood as a way to engage a diverse range of audiences from chefs to fishing communities in marine conservation action.
