Pedro Llanos-Paredes is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Oxford Martin School, University of Oxford. 

He holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the London School of Economics and specialises in applied econometrics and causal inference for impact evaluation. His research examines the intersections of technological change, industrial policy, and labour market dynamics, focusing on how public policy influences employment and productivity outcomes. 

Pedro has written on topics ranging from trade shocks and manufacturing resilience to the role of research institutes in fostering innovation. His current work explores the implications of artificial intelligence for skills demand and the governance of climate policy. He has extensive experience with large-scale data analysis and has advised governments on fiscal policy and extractive industries' governance.
