Joseph Tsui Lok Hei
Joseph is a doctoral student funded by the Yeotown Scholarship from New College, and jointly supervised by Prof. Oliver Pybus and Dr. Moritz Kraemer in the Oxford Martin School Programme on Pandemic Genomics.
Joseph is interested in how spatial structures and human mobility data can be used to improve phylodynamic inferences. In particular, he hopes to address the question of how spatiotemporal variations in sequence sampling intensity may lead to biases and how these effects can be accounted for. Joseph is also working on extending current techniques to incorporate mobility data and other contextual data to inform phylodynamic reconstructions.
