Dr Linna Zhou
Oxford Martin Fellow
Dr Linna Zhou is an investigator working with Prof. Hagan Bayley (Department of Chemistry) and Prof. Xin Lu (Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research).
She is interested in building structurally defined and functional 3D human tissue models from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and patient-derived primary cells. The 3D human tissues can be used for in vitro disease modelling, drug and phenotypic screenings, and potentially personalised treatments to replace damaged tissues in patients. Specifically, she is interested in building 3D neural tissue and neuron-cancer models to study the function of neural cells in repair and disease processes. She has a multidisciplinary background in tissue engineering, stem cell, medicinal chemistry and drug discovery.
