Professor Christl Donnelly
Professor of Applied Statistics
Christl Donnelly is Professor of Applied Statistics and Head of Department at the Department of Statistics and a Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on Digital Pandemic Preparedness.
Christl’s research interests include statistical and epidemiological aspects of disease transmission and control, spanning a wide range of disease impact public health and animal health. She has a particular interest in real-time analysis to support outbreak response, with some work relating to animal welfare and conservation more widely.
She has collaborated with colleagues from the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control (among others) in response to major outbreaks including the 2009 influenza pandemic, the 2014-2016 Ebola epidemic in West Africa and the COVID-19 pandemic.
