Prof Dirk Aarts is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. His interdisciplinary research spans soft and biological matter, combining physical chemistry, statistical physics, microfluidics and quantitative analysis to develop new approaches for understanding and measuring complex systems. 

Together with colleagues in the Nuffield Department of Medicine, he co-developed the paired TCR/BCR immune-repertoire sequencing technology underpinning the Oxford Martin Programme on Immune Ageing. Reflecting his interest in research translation and entrepreneurship, he established Oxford Edge, Christ Church's Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
