Johannes is a Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford and a Supernumerary Fellow of St Anne's College. His research has studied the economic effects of honesty, complexity, disappointment, fairness, and fungibility. During the Covid-19 pandemic he worked on the acceptance of contact-tracing apps. He is currently Head of the Department of Economics.
