Professor Soniza V Alves-Leon M.D., P.h.D., is Full Professor of Neurology/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State; Head of Multiple Sclerosis and Other Demyelinating Diseases Research Center at University Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho/ (HUCFF/UFRJ). he is a researcher and AD-HOC Committee Member of The Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and Medical Scientist of Foundation for Rio de Janeiro State Research (FAPERJ).

Dr. Alves-Leon’s research and clinical interests include Multiple Sclerosis, inflammatory and immunology aspects of pharmacoresistant epilepsies; translational studies of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy associated to Hippocampus Sclerosis and translational studies on neurodegenerative diseases and arboviruses.
