Tia Collins works as a researcher for the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development, focusing on firms in low- and middle-income countries.

Her academic journey began with a double major in Economics and Political Science at Oregon State University, with a specific focus on international relations and global affairs. She then obtained a Master's in Quantitative Economics (MQE) from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, further honing her analytical and research skills. In between her undergraduate and graduate degrees, she had the opportunity to work for Aqua/Aero Dynamics in Negombo, Sri Lanka, where she applied extensive data analysis to optimize inventory management and conduct an employee survey.

Born in Oregon, she loves the outdoors and is passionate about nature and environmental conservation, which aligns with her commitment to making a positive impact on global development through her work.
