Dr Wenjia Du

Senior Researcher

Dr Wenjia Du joined the OMS circular battery programme in March 2025 to lead research activities in WP2. He is a metallurgist, electrochemist, and microscopist with over a decade of experience in advanced X-ray imaging techniques. 

He is a leading user of major synchrotron radiation facilities, and developed an international track record in sustainable materials, energy devices, and green chemistry technologies. He has authored 50+ high-impact publications spanning themes from Li-sulfur battery technology to non-destructive diagnostics, and recently battery sustainability. His contributions have been recognised by the Royal Academy of Engineering, STFC, and the Alan Turing Institute. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the UKRI Peer Review College.
