This seminar is hosted by the Oxford Martin Programme on Complexity, Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School and CABDyN
Speaker: Giorgio Fagiolo, Laboratory of Economics and Management, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies
Abstract: Giorgio will discuss recent empirical and theoretical work that addresses the study of interactions among world countries from a complex-network perspective.
He will ask three main questions:
- What is the topological structure of macroeconomic networks?
- Are there simple models that can explain that structure?
- Can the topology of macroeconomic networks explain macroeconomic dynamics?
Sandwiches and drinks will be provided
