Speaker: Giorgio Fagiolo, Laboratory of Economics and Management, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies

Abstract: Giorgio will discuss recent empirical and theoretical work that addresses the study of interactions among world countries from a complex-network perspective.
He will ask three main questions:

  1. What is the topological structure of macroeconomic networks?
  2. Are there simple models that can explain that structure?
  3. Can the topology of macroeconomic networks explain macroeconomic dynamics?
