Dr Sabine Roeser, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Delft University of Technology

It seems to be a platitude that emotions and feelings are irrational and need to be corrected by reason. We also see this reflected in studies about risk perception. This presentation will argue that rather than being biases that threat objectivity and rationality in thinking about acceptable risks, emotions are crucial to come to a correct understanding of the moral acceptability of a hazard.
