Abstract: A discussion of recent developments in climate science and policy that will include a critical assessment of the policy implications of recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports on climate science and climate impacts and a discussion of my recent research with fellows of the James Martin 21st Century School and the Tyndall Centre on climate policy, specifically the role of carbon offsetting and of non nation state actors in emission reductions.
