We are delighted to announce that the Oxford Institute of Ageing has been awarded a dissemination grant of over £18,000 by the Alzheimer’s Society, to promote the results of a recent James Martin-funded study, "Managing Together". Prof. Sarah Harper and Jenny La Fontaine have been carrying out research exploring the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias on the relationship between grandparents and their younger grandchildren.

This grant is an exciting opportunity to increase the relevance and impact of the original research, by promoting the resulting report more widely and allowing a far broader audience to benefit from the research findings. It will enable the Institute of Ageing to organise workshops involving some of the families who participated in the research, and to produce a series of leaflets and other practical guidance material for families, health services and social care professionals.
