It was announced today that Dame Angela McLean will be the new GCSA, starting in April. Angela is currently Chief Scientific Advisor at the Ministry of Defence and a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College. Currently, in her one day a week at Oxford, she is a Lead Researcher on the Oxford Martin Programme on Pandemic Genomics and the Oxford Martin Programme on Collective Responsibility for Infectious Disease. She co-founded the Oxford Martin School Restatements Project.
The Oxford Martin School's Director Sir Charles Godfray said “This is really excellent news; Angela brings to the job huge expertise as a brilliant research scientist as well as enormous experience of the science-policy interface – she is an inspired choice”.
