On Wednesday 16 September, delegates arrived at Christ Church College for the 2009 Oxford Analytica International Conference. This internationally renowned conference brings leading academic experts together with senior executives, government and international officials, providing them with the insights necessary to guide their organisations through the uncertain geopolitical, economic and social developments in the year ahead.
This is a key opportunity to present 21st Century School research highlights, insights and implications to a globally influential audience. In a panel discussion: "Beyond the Financial Crisis: Systemic shocks in the 21st century", scholars from the 21st Century School will review the underlying causes of the financial crisis, impacts of ageing and fertility, and innovations in medical technologies, all of which are forcing major decisions on an international political scale. Emphasis in the session will be on generating a lively, interactive debate among the panellists and audience members.
The residential conference traditionally concludes with a banquet at exquisite Blenheim Palace, where, surrounded by sweeping lawns and formal gardens, the delegates will be able to reflect on the global outlook for 2010.
