Bhavya Gupta

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Bhavya Gupta is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Net Zero Regulation and Policy Hub in the Blavatnik School of Government as well as the Oxford Martin Programme on Net Zero Regulation and Policy.

She works on mapping and analysing climate mitigation policies across countries, including disclosures, transition planning, and public procurement. More generally, she is interested in research cutting across sustainable finance, public policy, and international political economy, spanning issues ranging from green finance, climate-related financial risks, and the political economy of international climate policymaking.

Before joining the Hub, Bhavya completed her doctorate in 2024 from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Her doctoral thesis focused on examining the role played by central banks as policy actors in mitigating the physical and transition risks posed by climate change to financial stability and facilitating funds towards low-carbon sectors. During her PhD, she also spent one year at the Macmillan Centre for International and Area Studies at Yale University, USA as a Fox International Fellow in 2022-23. Before enrolling for a PhD, she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy in the Australian National University.

Bhavya holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, and a master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
